Well another new personal record!
Yeah for me!
My knee really started to hurt around 18km though and my speed really decreased. I stopped and stretched it quite a few times and that seemed to give me another few km. It really hurt but I went the full way. This was definately a wall that I wasn't going to give up on. I am thinking I really need to start watching my diet and eating more carbs leading up to big runs like this. I'm going to try and add meals of rice and noodles the day before and eat enough carbs before I run.
30km I'm lookin at you!

A new record!
Ahhh, that felt good! This is the longest single run that I have done so far to date in my life. It is about half of what I have to do on April 17th but it is already about 15-20 minutes faster than what I was doing even a month ago.
I'm looking for a new pair of shoes and even though they will be more expensive to buy them instore I need to start breaking those badboys in. After checking some internet forums I am probably going to go with either Ascis or Mizuno. From my brief research the Japanese style shoes tend to be lighter and built for a smaller people than the ones back home which focus a lot on support for a bigger body. I'll hit the ABC mart today before work to see what they got.

10 days off
I felt good to let my knee rest and not be injured for my trip to Taiwan but got back in the saddle today. I did 15km and was pleased that I kept up a good pace the whole time. At this rate I might even be able to hit that 2 hour 20km that I have been shooting for. Then its just a matter of uping the ante.
It's less than two months till run time so gotta pick it up.

Feel da burn
Today was not so cool. Although I was able to to my 10k in under an hour today my body felt it. I have to believe that the actions of last Friday (getting totally wasted and throwing up) and not sleeping well all weekend has taken a toll on my stamina. So the message? Don't do that kinda dumb shizzy until AFTER the marathon.
I am going to Taiwan next week so I might miss out on my 10k run, so I'll probably stick to the 10k then 20k run for another two weeks. After that I would like to "upgrade" to a 15k, 25k, schedule. I think that by running 40km a week that would help to prepare me better.
In other news unrelated I found a great new thing to make, chicken and rice soup! This soup however is made more or less from scratch. I found that if you boil the remains of a chicken and get some good concentrated broth out of it then just add some simple cut up chicken, carrots, onion, and put it over rice it is great grand daddy delicious! Wayyy simpler than I thought it would be too!

Been a sec since I updated but I did run last week! I got in a 10k but wasn't too happy with the time again. Today I got in a 10k and without the stoplight stops I think I would have finished within the 1 hour I was looking for. I am getting excited/nervous about the marathon lately. I run 16k and feel like I am going to drop so I don't know what I'm going to do with 42k! I am still planning on doing a 30k "hit the wall run" sometime in March to really give myself an idea of what it's going to be like.
