My run today I focused on mainly trying to keep up a pace that would see me to a 4 and a 1/2 hour marathon run. If a marathon is 42 km at 6 mins a kilometer that would take me about 252 minutes or 4 hours and 12 mins approx. That is my aim anyway but if I can keep that up I'm not so sure. Today I think I could have kept it below the 6 mins and 19 seconds a kilometer if I hadn't been running in traffic. Next Monday or Thursday when I can get in a long run I'm going to try and just running at a park near my place exclusively. It is about 2.5 km there and not many people use it so no distractions cept my podcast.

Doing it again

Today's route led me on a 16km journey around Tsurumi. Of course after taking a week off it was a rude awakening. I also need to learn to eat a big breakfast to have enough energy to run. I had two eggs and two pieces of toast around 11am but then ran out and got a reentry permit so didnt start running till four. After even 6km I was starting to feel really drained. Good to keep in mind for next time.

No turning back now

What you see there might not look like much but that is my ticket to my first Marathon. Yep I just got back from the 7-11 paying my 5000 yen to register. Gotta keep this on the fridge as a reminder for every beer that I wanna drink or cookie I wanna eat.

Yesterday was a great running day but was probably not the best way to get back into the game. From two weeks to 15k might have been a lot (plus I went snowboarding Sunday and was still feeling it). I went for a short 2k or so walk today to still get in come exercise but will take it easy and Saturday is my rest day (from running).

I switched from 8 min abs yesterday to Ab sculptor and felt the change immediately. It's half the time but probably twice the work out.

New record

A new start

I blew off running and working out for almost two weeks now. I was feeling down and then we had guests come and going on a two hour run was just out of the question. I am feeling better and as much fun as I had with out guests it's time to get back into the running game.

Perhaps more importantly I have registered for a marathon.

I ain't gonna lie

I am in a funk right now. I don't know how or why it happened but I don't feel like running or working out. My job is getting me down, as well as not feeling like I have any time to myself. What suffers the most from that is of course working out.

Last rest day

Today is my last rest day so tomorrow is going to be my entry back into running. I'm still feeling the pain in my hip a bit but I think that I am going to good to go come tomorrow.
